Obtained by burning lutetium oxalate. At present, high-purity lutetium oxide is produced using thulium, ytterbium, lutetium concentrates or crude lutetium oxide as raw materials, using extraction chromatography or solvent extraction methods. The main shortcomings of the extraction chromatography method are: the required equipment is complex, the reagents are expensive, and a constant temperature device is required, which also has high requirements for the factory environment. Therefore, the equipment investment is large, maintenance is difficult, and the production process is discontinuous. The one-time feeding amount is small, the production cycle is long, and the consumption of acid, alkali, and other reagents per unit output of the product is high, and the product yield is low; At the same time, this method requires high personnel quality and production management level.

 

 
 
 
Product Applications

1) Preparation of ytterbium doped lutetium oxide laser ceramics belongs to the field of ceramics.

The method comprises: preparing Ytterbium(III) oxide powder; Preparation of lutetium oxide powder; Weigh Ytterbium(III) oxide powder and lutetium oxide powder according to the ytterbium concentration of ytterbium doped lutetium oxide laser ceramics; The first slurry is obtained by ball milling the mixture of Ytterbium(III) oxide powder and lutetium oxide powder, sintering aids and organic solvent after symmetrical amount; Perform drying treatment, forming treatment, and cold isostatic pressing treatment on the first slurry in sequence to obtain the ceramic body; Ytterbium doped lutetium oxide laser ceramics were obtained by sequentially treating the ceramic body with adhesive discharge, vacuum sintering, hot pressing, annealing, and polishing. The laser ceramic prepared by this method has good optical properties and does not deviate from the doping concentration, making it easy to control and scale up production.
2) Preparation 1-2 μ M lutetium  oxide co precipitate, first dissolve lutetium oxide and  oxide in to form a mixed chloride solution, and add  water dropwise to adjust the pH value of the mixed chloride solution to 4.0 ± 0.2; Then add the mixed chloride solution to Ammonium oxalate solution for precipitation reaction. After the reaction, filter and wash immediately, burn, keep warm, and cool to room temperature to obtain lutetium  oxide coprecipitate. The production process of the method of the invention is easy to control, the particle size distribution of the lutetium  oxide coprecipitate is uniform, and the non rare earth impurities and the D50 value are suitable.
3) The preparation of a Ce3+doped lutetium oxide based transparent scintillation ceramic material belongs to the field of special rare earth ceramic material manufacturing technology.
The invention uses 99.99% high-purity CeO2, La2O3, Y2O3 and Lu2O3 nanometer powders as raw materials, and ingredients according to the composition in the chemical formula (Lu1-x-y-zCezYyLax) 2O3; Among them, x=0.005-0.2, y=0.1~0.5, and z=0.001~0.05. Place the mixture prepared according to the above molar ratio in a ball mill for grinding for 24 hours, then dry it, add 5wt% PA binder for granulation, and press it into blocks under 200MPa cold isostatic pressure; Place the compression plates in a molybdenum wire furnace and sinter them at 1450-1800 ºC in a reducing atmosphere, with a sintering time of 10-30 hours. Finally, Ce3+doped lutetium oxide based transparent scintillation ceramic material is obtained. This transparent scintillation ceramic material has a fast nanosecond decay time and high bulk density.
